SKK and Singapore Turf Club: Names, Race History and Key Checks

Correction and current-status update, 3 October 2026: An earlier version of this article treated “SKK” as another name for Singapore Turf Club and attributed several facilities and activities to it without a reliable source. That identification has been removed. Singapore Turf Club is referred to as STC in this guide.

Singapore Turf Club held its final race meeting on 5 October 2024. The club’s official Grand Singapore Gold Cup record documents that finale. The original publication date is retained, but this is historical and terminology-focused coverage, not a current schedule or invitation to attend races at Kranji.

Distinguishing names and organisations

A name used in an online horse-racing article should not be assumed to identify a race organiser, regulator or betting operator. This page does not establish what business or service “SKK” identifies, or any relationship between SKK, Wabo and Singapore Turf Club. Similar terminology is not evidence of common ownership, approval or affiliation.

When checking a claim, look for the organisation’s full name, the exact website domain, a dated announcement and a primary source. Historical race results and event records describe a particular meeting; they do not prove that a service is currently available or authorised in a reader’s location.

Reading race distances in historical records

The original article also introduced race-distance terminology. Keep that vocabulary separate from claims about a particular provider. A race card should state the distance explicitly, alongside the venue and date.

  • Sprint: A description commonly used for shorter races. Check the printed distance rather than relying on the label alone.
  • Mile: Approximately 1,600 metres. The exact distance on the race card is the relevant reference.
  • Longer-distance races: These place different demands on stamina. Labels and classifications vary, so use the organiser’s own description.

What this article does not verify

This article does not verify current racecourse management, a domestic breeding programme, gambling licences or a partnership with Wabo. The previous unsupported references to a “Pasir Panjang Turf Club” and an SKK breeding programme have been removed. Those details should not be repeated as established facts.

For context on the former spectator experience, read the historical Kranji spectator guide and its current-status correction. Use the official event record above when verifying the final meeting, and check a source’s date before treating old coverage as current information.
