Baccarat is straightforward to follow, but simple rules do not make winning easy or predictable. This guide explains hand values and payout terms while correcting unsupported claims about pattern betting, bonuses and secure funds.

How hand values work
Cards 2–9 retain their face value. Tens and face cards count as zero; aces count as one. Only the last digit of a hand total is used, so 13 counts as 3. The Player and Banker labels identify hands, not the people at the table. Drawing follows the game’s fixed rules rather than a participant deciding whether to take another card.

Payouts depend on the variant
Player, Banker and Tie are distinct wagers. It is misleading to say that Player and Banker always pay identically: in a common commission version, a winning Player wager pays 1 to 1 and a winning Banker wager pays 0.95 to 1 after 5% commission. No-commission versions can have different conditions. The Tie payout and any side bets must also be read from the actual paytable.

A scoreboard is a record, not a forecast
A run of Player or Banker results does not by itself establish a reliable edge for the next hand. Past outcomes alone do not justify claims that a streak will continue or reverse. Changing stakes in response to a pattern can increase losses. Learning the rules or using a demonstration mode is not evidence that future real-money results will improve.
Bonuses do not guarantee safe funds
“Free” offers may carry restrictions and do not make financial loss impossible. This article does not verify WABO payment safeguards, bonus availability, live-game offerings or withdrawal performance. Avoid treating those claims as facts without current evidence.
Rules reference
The GRA-published Commission Baccarat rules illustrate card values and commission payouts for a named casino game. They do not certify another platform.
